Loving Out Loud: Learning to Love in a Hate-Filled World
Jesus taught us to love one another, to love our neighbors, and even to love our enemies. In a world that seems to be overrun with anger and hateful words, how does a Christian even begin to fulfill those teachings? Politics? Doctrinal battles? Culture wars? A quick changing society? “Love one another”—It’s easy to say those words, but hard to follow them up with deeds—to make them genuine. Loving Out Loud is a book of stories that bring those instructions to life. These stories are real, straightforward, and true. They will make you think. Use this book in Bible classes, small groups, book clubs, or as a personal study guide. Each chapter includes discussion questions and a challenge. Love really is the answer. Foreword by Don Mclaughlin, Senior Minister, North Atlanta Church of Christ and author of Love First: Ending Hate Before It’s Too Late Recommendations “Without preaching, shaming or finger-pointing, Mike DeCamp stands before us and strips his own life bare…” -- Dr. Patrick Mead—Pastor at Our Safe Harbor Church--www.oursafeharbor.com/ “I highly recommend this book to you if you are wanting to understand Jesus’ concept of loving God with everything you have and loving your neighbor as yourself.” -- Dr. Jim White—Senior Minister at the Southwest Church of Christ, Omaha, NE
The Loving Out Loud Workbook is a companion tool to be paired with the book, Loving Out Loud: Learning to Love in a Hate-Filled World. It captures the scriptures, as well as the discussion questions and the challenge utilized in each chapter. Additional questions are added following each chapter challenge to assist the reader in reflecting on the message and personal changes. There is even a prompt to record the reader’s most significant takeaway from each chapter. Plenty of room is provided for notes. This notebook is useful for individual readers to journal their thoughts and reflections. It is also a great tool for small groups and bible class members to jot notes or prepare thoughts for upcoming discussions. Finally, there is a larger version of the Lovementalism Challenge with room for documenting the various experiences as the individual passes through each step.
